Fortunately, the program received a grant from the AstraZeneca Healthcare Foundation. Therefore, Shawn received a Communicator Award for the Outstanding Medical/Health series in 2012. Besides, she also received two Maine Association of Broadcasters Awards in Journalism.
Additionally, she received the prestigious Blue Cross/Blue Shield Health Foundation’s National Health Media Fellowship award in 2010. She produced and hosted AM Chats as well as a new national public affairs program for the web named “Shared Conversations.”
