Teresa is an American journalist working as the Primary Morning News anchor at WOOD TV8 in Grand Rapids, MI. She started her career in broadcasting at WKRN-TV in Nashville, Tennessee. Teresa worked there for two years as a traffic anchor before switching to morning reporter during the historic flood of 2010. She was nominated for an Emmy for one of her stories on that incident, which concerned a former football coach at Vanderbilt who was stuck in his house.
Teresa also gained insight into Nashville’s gang and police cultures by gathering information about crimes that occurred overnight, which she used to put together an Emmy-nominated news special on the topic. In September 2010, Teresa was hired as an evening news anchor at WKBN-TV in Youngstown, Ohio. She met her husband while working at the station. After that, Teresa joined WIVB-TV, the CBS affiliate in Buffalo, NY, serving as the primary morning news anchor.
During her tenure at WIVB-TV, she covered the historic November Storm of 2014. In a few of days, seven feet of lake-effect snow accumulated on portions of the region, immobilizing towns and cities. She also covered the well-known “carcicle” that made national news in early 2016 when waves from Lake Erie crashed over a car that was parked in a lot close to the beach, leaving several inches of ice covering it.
Teresa also had a great experience performing in Buffalo as a fiddler with the band Ten Cent Howl and opening for local musician Frankie Ballard, who was born in Battle Creek. Her initial passion was music. Since the age of nine, she has been playing the violin, and she can also sing and play the guitar.
