Prior to this, she served in Chicago, Illinois at FOX 32 News as a reporter and a substitute anchor for four years. During her quarter-century there, she broadcasted breaking news from the forefront of NATO, a memorable Chicago Teachers Union Strike, and the 2012 Presidential Election.
Additionally, she implanted overnight with Occupy Chicago and documented the experience on her iPhone. Furthermore, she survived and weathered the Windy City’s acute cold counting the Blizzard of 2011, the Polar Vortex of 2014, and the Blizzard of 2015. However, her favorite moment in Chicago was when she created Sisters Peak, a youth mentoring program.
On a side note, the program was devised to assist female students to climb to their peak of success and achievement. Moreover, she served the FOX affiliate in Indianapolis, Indiana as an anchor and a reporter. In her tenure there, she broadcasted stories that made state headlines such as the Indianapolis Colts’ road to Super Bowl XLIV. Nonetheless, her occupancy at the NBC station in Miami, WTVJ-TV was the enzyme for her passion to tell a good story. In NewYork, she served off-screen at Fox News Channel on At Large with Geraldo Rivera and The Big Story Weekend Edition with Rita Cosby.
Following that, she served the NBC affiliate in Bakersfield, California, KGET-TV as a reporter and a fill-in anchor for two years. Regardless, she got her initial impression of the TV when she was 14 years old. Further, she served as a “Posse Member” on Black Entertainment Television’s talk program Teen Summit based in Washington, D.C.
While there, she was featured in Kaiser Permanente’s national “Rap-It-Up” public service declaration that concentrated on HIV and AIDS awareness.
