However, Arlen had to fight for about four years in a vegetative state but luckily she later relearned daily tasks. Therefore, she joined the ESPN team in a wheelchair but luckily celebrated her one-year anniversary of regaining her strength to walk again.

Further, Victoria has been a motivational speaker, model, and actress. In addition, she was a competitive swimmer and participated in the 2012 London Paralympic Games whereby she won a gold medal. This was in the race in the 100-meter freestyle event which was a new world record. Also, she won three silver medals in the 50-meter, 400-meter, and 4×100-meter freestyle relay.
