Victoria’s story of her health at of young age is about overcoming odds and adversity. She was unlucky to have been diagnosed with Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis and Transverse Myelitis at the age of 11 years. During this time she couldn’t speak, eat or walk and healthcare workers lost hope in her survival. However, Arlen had to fight for about four years in a vegetative state but luckily she later relearned daily tasks. Therefore, she joined the ESPN team in a wheelchair but luckily celebrated her one-year anniversary of regaining her strength to walk again.
Further, Victoria has been a motivational speaker, model, and actress. In addition, she was a competitive swimmer and participated in the 2012 London Paralympic Games whereby she won a gold medal.
