Zach weather forecasted at WCTV for seven months whereby he presented the weather On-Air on the Good Morning Show, Saturday and Sunday Mornings. Also, he used WSI products including Social and PRISM to post online weather graphic updates through social media and organized a fluid weather story only to mention a few.
Covey interned at WTXL ABC27 in Tallahassee, Florida Area in 2014 for about five months. Therefore, his assignments included helping in creating weather graphics and a fluid weather story using WSI Max and assisting the morning meteorologist with shooting her radio hits. Also, he kept abreast of developing weather situations through the local NWS chat.

Further, Covey was a meteorologist at KFOX14/CBS4 from 2016-2018 whereby he covered severe weather from the monsoon season that hits the Southwest every Summer. In addition, he provided coverage of the approach and landfall of Hurricane Harvey, a storm that dumped a historic 40+” of rainfall in Houston and Beaumont and cost billions of dollars in damage to Texas In the Summer of 2017.
However, he later joined WPDE TV 15 as the morning meteorologist in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Area. His skills include social media and weather forecasting among others. Zach is now a meteorologist at CBS 12 News who joined the StormTrac Weather Team in October 2019. He has experience in tropical and severe weather focus.
