She joined KHON, the Fox affiliate in Honolulu, as a reporter after deciding to pursue her ambition of being a reporter. She later joined the Yakima, Washington, NBC affiliate. Fuji then started working for the Fox station’s Salt Lake City affiliate as both a reporter and an anchor. She then changed to CBS’s WiZ. She worked for KCBS-KCAL in Los Angeles from 2012 to 2018, however, she subsequently quit the network when her spouse got a job in New York.

At NBC station KNDO/KNDU-TV, Washington, Johnson set about his on-air career in 2005 as a weekend night reporter and host. Later, he worked as an evening anchor and daily reporter for Salt Lake City, Utah’s KSL-TV, an affiliate of NBC. As a network correspondent and associate anchor based in Washington, DC, Johnson joined CBS News in 2009. There, the majority of his reporting was on the Capitol, the White House, and international affairs. He covered Osama bin Laden’s murder and spoke with Hillary Clinton, who was the secretary of state at the time when she visited the Middle East in 2011.

Johnson began working as a general announcer and reporter for KNBC in Los Angeles in 2012. In this capacity, he covered a variety of events, including the Asiana Flight 214 tragedy at San Francisco International Airport and Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign from Boston. He joined LA’s Today in June 2014 to co-host the show with Daniella Guzman. Prior to going to Rio de Janeiro in 2016 to cover the Summer Olympics, he traveled to Sochi in 2014 to cover the Winter Olympics. He co-hosted exclusive coverage of the Los Angeles opening ceremony, which won an Emmy, in Rio.

Johnson was ABC News’ main correspondent during the COVID-19 pandemic.
