She is also the founder of the Amy’s Angels franchise which honors people who are making a difference in their communities and beyond. Amy began her broadcasting career while still in college, working at WSYM as a weekend sports anchor in Lansing. She was an intern for the Detroit Lions as well. After receiving her degree from college, she traveled to Colorado to work as an anchor and reporter for a tiny television station on the Western Slope. She claims that she can still remember peeking in the rearview mirror driving away from her metro Detroit home and thinking, “Someday I will be back working for FOX 2 News.”

In December 2002, Amy began working as a news anchor and reporter at KREY/KREX in Montrose, Colorado. Her next destination was “Then” UPN affiliate KLBC TV2 in Laughlin, Nevada. After two and a half years, Amy moved to San Luis Obispo, California, to work as an anchor and reporter for KSBY 6. She began to feel the “pull” of the Midwest a few years later and knew it was time to return home. Amy accepted a position in the Flint/Saginaw market at WNEM TV5. She began as a weekend anchor and progressed to morning/noon anchoring and co-hosting the lifestyle program “Better Mid-Michigan.”

Her career completed a full circle in September 2011 when she was offered a position at FOX 2. When she’s not motivating viewers from her position at the anchor desk, she’s making a difference in the community. She is an ambassador for C.A.T.C.H Children’s Charity and is actively associated with Gleaners Community Food Bank. She also helped FOX 2 establish a media relationship with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Additionally, she is highly involved with the American Heart Association, Angels of Hope, Habitat for Humanity, and the Crohn’s Colitis Foundation of America.
