Donovan is an Emmy award-winning journalist working as a Morning News anchor at WOOD TV8 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He began his broadcasting career as a Weekend anchor and reporter at the FOX affiliate, WFXL-TV, in Albany, GA. After that, he joined the CBS affiliate, WVLT Volunteer TV in Knoxville, Tenn. While there, he served as a weekend evening anchor and reporter for three years before joining News 8 in 2019.
His accolades as a journalist include two Emmys, an Associated Press Award, an Edward R. Murrow, and the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. Additionally, he is honored to be a part of both Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the National Association of Black Journalists.
After a car accident in July 2018, Donovan was diagnosed with a functional neurological disorder. He had to retrain his legs to run and walk for a full year. Donovan likes to read, go fishing, play basketball for fun, and spend time with his loved ones when he’s not at work.
