Emily graduated from Mississippi State University in May of 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Geosciences. She concentrated on professional meteorology with an emphasis on broadcasting. Emily’s career in meteorology originates from her childhood. She developed an interest in weather, specifically severe weather, from the experience she got from multiple tornadoes passing through her hometown.
In addition, she not only wanted to help keep the community safe from disaster but also wanted to learn the science behind it. She personally experienced the tornado outbreak of April 27, 2011, which made her realize her love for weather. Luckily, she got a part-time job at WVUA 23 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in August 2019 before joining WZDX Team in May 2019, where she works to date.
