Armstrong began her career on local radio before joining BBC Manchester’s press team in 1983. She then joined Border Television as a reporter before becoming a regular news anchor and nightly regional information anchor for Look Around. Fiona joined ITN in March 1 as a reporter/anchor for the ten o’clock news, the 5:45 news (later the 5:40 news) and other bulletins.
