She covered a variety of national stories while in Missouri, including an overnight tornado that struck Jefferson City, for which she and the rest of the team got a national Edward R. Murrow Award for breaking news coverage.

Bautista is a reporter and anchor who joined the WVTM 13 News Team in February 2023. She contributed great reporting on major subjects including devastating Western Kentucky tornadoes, the Kentucky Derby, different extreme weather events, and an attempted assassination of a mayoral candidate during her time in Louisville.
Gladys worked as a reporter and anchor for the local CBS affiliate station in Jefferson City, Missouri before moving to Louisville. She covered a variety of national stories while in Missouri, including an overnight tornado that struck Jefferson City, for which she and the rest of the team got a national Edward R. Murrow Award for breaking news coverage.
Gladys is a first-generation college graduate, having received her Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Journalism from Georgia State University in 2018. During her time there, she interned for CNN, CNN International, and WSB-TV, among others. She also spent the fall of her sophomore year in Venice, Italy, studying International Politics and Italian at Ca’Foscari University of Venice and Venice International University.
Gladys was chosen to join in the Georgia News Lab during her junior year of college, an award-winning investigative reporting partnership with some of the state’s finest college journalism schools and two leading news agencies, WSB-TV, and the Atlanta-Journal Constitution. There, she created a detailed study on how an Atlanta organization failed to offer affordable homes and prevent gentrification as promised.
Moreover, Gladys is a proud member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists as well as the National Association of Black Journalists.
