It wasn’t the volcano’s beautiful but unique orange lighting, nor was it the exhilaration of a typhoon that hit land as the volcano erupted.

Even the daily earthquakes she and her family faced did not inspire her to pursue a career in weather. It was only that she loved to fly. Stephanie decided to learn as much as possible about the topic after seeing the need for precise forecasts while studying for her private pilot’s certificate.

The Pennsylvania State University awarded Stephanie a Bachelor of Science degree, and she also possesses the American Meteorological Society Television Seal of Approval. After working for Florida’s Newschannel for two years as a meteorologist, Stephanie Walker joins WVTM 13. Prior to that, she successfully served in excellency as a meteorologist for WYOU in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
