Jason managed to develop the format for several sports-oriented programs on KUAM. Therefore, he hosted weekly sports talk radio programs and also producing, writing, and co-hosted “JockTalk” a 30-minute TV show. The show focused on national and local sports. Additionally, Salas continues to single-handedly develop and maintain KUAM.com which is Guam’s most successful online brand. Jason ensures frequently posts to his weblog, JasonSalas.com, and is the producer of the podcast “Jason Salas’ Digital Pontification”.

He emerged first ever in Guam to be awarded Microsoft’s coveted Most Valuable Professional (MVP) designation, receiving it in 2003 and 2004. Previously, Jason won the Society of Professional Journalists award for Best Online Story. In addition, he is a four-time recipient of the prestigious Award Edward R.
