Boal is a retired  American journalist who worked for KSL-TV as an anchor and a reporter between 1999 – Jun 2023 . Upon joining the station in1999, he initially served as a reporter  and served the station for more than 2 decades. Nonetheless, he debuted his journalism career when he served n Florence, Alabama at WOWL-TV. For a year beginning in 1989, he served the station as an anchor at 6 and 10 p.m. and as a ‘One-man-band’ TV reporter, shooter, and editor.

Also, he served in Georgia at WRBL-TV as a weekend anchor and a general assignment reporter for 3 years since 1990. While in Georgia, he broadcsted military affairs, cops and courts. Also, her shot videos, wrote and edited stories. Additionally, in 1993he reported from Somalia as soldiers from Ft. Benning served to assist in repairing the nation’s worn-out roads and water systems.

Moreover, he served in Michigan at WWTV/WWUP-TV 9&10 as an anchor at 6 and 11 p.m. and a reporter from 1993  to 1999. During his quarter century at KSL, he telecasted everything. For example, he telecsted public safety matters, Utah troops, drastic weather, anything that got him up in the mountains. Throughout his career, he has been awarded for his journalism. 

For instance, the Utah Broadcasters Association, the Society for Professional Journalists, and news associations in Michigan and Georgia rewarded him for his reporting. Away from journalism, Boal enjoys backpacking and skiing in the mountains of northern Utah. Also, he loves hiking the canyons of the Colorado Plateau. Plus, he wonders about the natural beauty of the state and loves the cultural offerings of the Wasatch Front. Such as the Utah Symphony, the Utah Jazz, and great restaurants.
