London’s father is the late Mahmoud Bazzi from a town called Bint Jbiel, in the south of Lebanon from which many Lebanese in Dearborn trace their roots. His father migrated to US during the Lebanese Civil War. However, Landon was brought up his Black mother and her family, as he grew up mostly estranged from his Lebanese father.

Growing up, his mother would make him watch the Detroit local news. She made him realize how crucial it is to be aware of your surroundings. That motivated him to pursue a career in Journalism. His mother Lela is 73 years old as of 2024, she was born on July 17, 1951. His late father, Mahmoud Bazzi, is from Bint Jbiel, a town in the south of Lebanon. Landon has a younger sister called Porsche. He also has a cousin called Andre who turned 39 on June 15, 2023.

Despite his relationship with his Lebanese side being rocky and complicated, his family tree extends out from Detroit into the Lebanese American community in Dearborn. There was discussion about giving Landon an Arabic name, although his mother felt strongly about the name Joshua. from the Bible as she is a big fan of (the movie) The 10 Commandments loving character of Joshua.

His parents met in the late 70s when her mother had migrated to Michigan from Montgomery, Alabama. Both were working at Thorn Apple Valley slaughterhouse near Eastern Market in Detroit. They started dating although a lot of relatives from Lebanese side did not approve of his father being with a Black woman. Thereafter, his father married a Lebanese woman, but continued with his relationship with Landon’s mother. The couple married and hence Landon’s sister, Porsche, born some four years later. Additionally, his dad had children with Lebanese wife as well, and Landon’s half brother was born just a month and a half after Landon. Therefore, Landon has five half siblings.

You can watch him provide live newscasts at 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. He’s been exposed to local TV news from childhood. Josh began his career as a broadcaster at WLNS in Lansing, Michigan, as a reporter. He went on to work as a reporter at Waterman Broadcasting in Florida. After that he moved to Virginia, landing a job as an anchor and reporter at WRIC the ABC 8NEWS affiliate. Josh spent almost 2 years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin working in the same capacity at WDJT CBS 58. He had been away for eight years before he got the amazing opportunity to work on FOX 2.

Growing up, his mother would make him watch the Detroit local news. She made him realize how crucial it is to be aware of your surroundings. Sometime in his early years, he started to find the local news to be really cool. Josh remembers going to the Detroit International Auto Show with his cousin Andre when he was around four or five years old. as they were sitting in a car, exploring it, a news crew appeared out of nowhere to interview them. Later that day, they made headlines. He still recalls that as a really great experience.

He remembers another occasion from his childhood when he was strolling around Eastland Mall and saw a former TV meteorologist out shopping with his children. Though it seemed strange, he followed this man around the mall until he got his attention. He shook hands, said hello, and wished him a happy day. Josh once worked at McDonald’s outside Eastland Mall when he was fifteen years old. One day while he was working the drive-through, a news crew came by to get lunch. The storyline revolved around his encounters with local television personalities when he was a child.

He genuinely feels that entering this field of work has been part of God’s destiny for him. Josh didn’t realize he would follow a career in broadcast journalism until he was 19 years old. He was talking to a friend about her internships at FOX 2 NEWS and radio station 97.9 during his sophomore year at EMU. After she shared her experiences with him, something prompted him to give it a try. Josh is so happy he did. He was completely captivated and thought this was the right career path the instant he witnessed reporters and anchors going about their daily business. After working in several cities for eight years in the industry, he is finally back home and is overjoyed to be in the city he loves dearly.
