Gargotta started out her professional journey as an intern at CBS3 in 2006 where she did research and desk work for about five months. She was also an intern at 610WIP SportsRadio where she was a promotions voiceovers cover. After some months, she moved to LiveClip, Inc and got a job as a media host and producer producing videos and hosting segments for over one year. Then, she became a program host for Philly.com where she did co-hosting duties on a website series for about two years. Next, she joined the Total Traffic Network in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the United States of America and served as a news reporter for four years.

Later, Julie went to Harrisburg Magazine in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and worked as a freelance writer for over one year. She also worked for Susquehanna Style Magazine as a freelance writer for about one year.. Additionally, she has been involved in the coverage of the Republican National Convention  and Category 5 Hurricane Michael commemoration stories.
