Redditte started out her illustrious career in journalism as a reporter and weekend anchor for WLOX-TV where she did general assignments and live shots for four years. Then, she became a speech instructor at Savannah State University for about five months. Next, she went to WTOC-TV and served as an anchor and reporter doing collaboration with reporters, finding sources and delivering news stories.  After three years, she became a public information manager at Savannah-Chatham County Public School System in Savannah, Georgia, the United States of America.

 From there, Karla got an anchor and reporter position at WAFF-TV in Huntsville, Alabama where she covered breaking news and investigative work  for two years and six months. Later, she moved to NBC12 Raycom Media in Richmond, Virginia, the USA and worked as an anchor and reporter for over 8 years. 

She has been involved in the firsthand coverage of big time stories and news such as the  50th Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination anniversary, Hurricane Katrina, and  Kehinde Wiley’s “Rumors of War” unveiling. Moreover, she has earned numerous awards and honors such as the 2023 NABJ Salute to Excellence Winner and 2022 RTDNAC TV News Anchor of the Year.
