Ramer started his career as a forecaster in his hometown of Montgomery, Alabama. Here, he covered violent tornadoes and on the beach forecasting hurricanes in Pensacola, Florida, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Therefore, became highly experienced in all types of weather prevailing in the United States. This was made possible since he broadcasted coast-to-coast for The Weather Channel.
Ramer worked at The Weather Channel from 1986 – 1991 as an On-Camera Meteorologist in Greater Atlanta Area. Here, he prepared and anchored four nightly Live weathercasts. However, he joined WPDE TV from 1991 – 1993 as chief Meteorologist in Myrtle Beach, SC. He anchored 6 .00p.m. and 11.00 p.m. weathercasts, using WSI Weather Spectrum 5000. In addition, he shot and actively engaged himself in the community.
Also, worked for WLKY TV from 1993 – 1997 as Chief Meteorologist in Louisville, Kentucky Area. He developed a competitive Weather Center and anchored 6.00 p.m. and 11 .00p.m weathercasts. Furthermore, he adapted TV Public Relations with high affinity. In addition, he has very high experience in public speaking in civic groups, schools, and churches.
Ramer joined WDRB TV FOX 41 team from 1998 – 2004 as a morning Co-host and Meteorologist in Louisville, Kentucky Area. Here, he co-hosted “Fox in the Morning”, which is an all-local, personality-driven news and “infotainment” format. In addition, he co-hosted a morning marathon of local weather, news, and information with enthusiasm. Ramer is a veteran in broadcasting who has been in the forecast for more than two decades. He has a Seal of approval for TV broadcasting by the AMS -American Meteorological Society.
