Atlanta News First’s morning correspondent is Madeline Montgomery. She is an American journalist who works at WBTV and is a native of the Atlanta region, she sees the transfer to Atlanta News First in 2022 as a return home. Madeline has reported on a variety of stories for the station thus far, including Rudy Giuliani’s testimony before a special grand jury looking into election interference and flying into Hurricane Ian’s eye.

Previously, Madeline served at CBS 12 News as a general assignments reporter in West Palm Beach. She joined CBS 12 in April 2019 and covered a variety of stories from state politics to invasive species. Prior to joining the WPEC news team, she worked at Sinclair Broadcast Group as a reporter in 2017 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Here, she covered Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Florence only to mention a few.

Montgomery interned at The CelebrityCafe.com for four months and later worked as a counselor at Riverview Camp for Girls from 2010-2015. In addition, Madeline joined the LuminationNetwork.com team as a Reporter, News and Weather Anchor, Camera, as well as Production.

Further, Montgomery worked as a nanny at Child Care Solutions in the Greater Nashville Area for a period of nine months. However, she later moved and joined Nexstar Media Group, Inc. in 2015 as a reporter for two years. Also, she served as an anchor and reporter at KTAB/KRBC in Abilene, Texas for two years. There, she shot edited, and wrote three news stories a day.

In addition, Madeline was an MMJ and fill-in anchor at Wpde TV 15 for one year and later joined WTGS in 2017 as a fill-in weekend anchor. She helped in the production of weekend shows and updated social media pages for the station in Savannah, Georgia. Besides, she also volunteered at Camp Barnabas and is still a volunteer at Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, Inc.

Montgomery was also a general assignment reporter at WPEC since April 2019.
