She joined the station in December 2002. Further, she has served the station for more than 2 decades. Upon joining the station, she initially served the station as a general assignment reporter.
Prior to Philadelphia, she served in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at WPXI as a reporter and anchor. Further, she served in Richmond, Virginia at WWBT as a reporter and weekend anchor. Nonetheless, her career began when she served in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina at WPDE as a reporter and anchor. Since then, she’s established herself as an outstanding on-scene reporter broadcasting big stories.
For instance, the crash of Flight 93 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania on September 11, the Columbine High School shootings, and the Quecreek Mine Disaster. Also, she provided coverage for a number of presidential campaigns and candidates and broadcasted the move of the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia in 2004 to its new home across Independence Park for CBS nationally.
To boot, her work has garnered her three local Emmy Awards. To boot, she serves as a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. During her time in Pittsburgh, she attained an African American Heritage Award as “Best Reporter” from WAMO Radio, the award’s sponsor. The Philadelphia chapter of the NAACP dubbed her to its “Most Influential Black Women” list twice. In 2016, she was inducted into the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia’s Hall of Fame.
Furthermore, she’s been active in supporting the stations’ efforts on behalf of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Additionally, she serves as a host of the organization’s yearly”Sisters for the Cure” workshop for African-American women. Currently, she serves on Susan G. Komen’s Board of Directors.
