Rachel Duensing is an American meteorologist who joined the CBS 17 Storm Team in June 2021 where she forecasts every Saturday and Sunday evening. Prior to this, she had worked at NBC2 in sunny Fort Myers, Florida as the weekend morning meteorologist. At NCBA2 she forecast all weather hazards including hurricanes. Here she got to love complex weather though lost her Midwest tolerance for the cold.

Before working at Fort Myers, she spent almost three years at WSIL-TV in Carterville, Illinois as the weekend morning meteorologist and was afterward promoted to weekday morning meteorologist. Rachel spent her time in Illinois forecasting extreme severe weather, including an EF4 tornado. So far Duensing is a finalist for the best weathercaster by the Illinois Broadcaster Association.

In Valpo, she was a member of the Valparaiso University Storm Intercept Team, and together with professors and classmates, chased tornadoes and severe weather across the Great Plains and Midwest.

Rachel grew up outside Chester, Illinois, a small town in the southern end of the state. She began loving the weather as early as a 10-year-old girl in her science class which came before a tornado outbreak outside her town.
