Stan is an American journalist working as a morning news anchor at WATE 6 News in Knoxville, Tennessee. He began his journalism career at Carolina News in Columbia, South Carolina, where he served as a reporter and producer for four months. Stan also served as a cameraman for the South Carolina Athletics Live Production and as an athletics marketing intern for the University of South Carolina.
Following graduation, Smith landed a morning news anchor/ reporter job at KXII-TV in Sherman, Texas. From there, he joined KAMC-TV in Lubbock, Texas, as a Sports director, where he spent two years and seven months before joining WATE 6 in 2024. For Stan, every day is a new adventure, and it’s delightful to hear the tales of those they interact with in East Tennessee.
A few days prior to Super Bowl LVIII, Stan accurately predicted during the broadcast that the Kansas City Chiefs would win the game with an odd final score of 25–22. Stan’s shot in the dark was discussed on national television in the days after the game, making it his “15 minutes of fame.” In his leisure time, Stan enjoys traveling, watching college football, trying to improve his golf skills, and trying out new restaurants.
