MacLaughlin works for WTVJ as a meteorologist and climate change reporter. He joined the NBC 6 Weather team in the February of 2017. Anyway, his career debuted when he served in New York City at NBC 4, WRC-TV as an intern
Later, he was employed to serve NBC 4 and NBC’s “Today” show as a weather producer, Also, he served alongside his mentor, Al Roker. In the wake of his graduation, he went on to serve in Richmond, Virginia at NBC 12, WWBT-TV.
Further, he served in Philadelphia at WPHL-TV as chief meteorologist. To boot, he served the NBC-owned station in Dallas, Texas, KXAS-TV for 6 years. To boot, he served as a fill-in at PIX 11 in New York City, the Weather Channel, CNBC, and MSNBC.
Moreover, he has gained five Emmy awards. In 2021, he gained an award for “Best Weathercast” and in 2019 for “Outstanding Weathercaster”. Furthermore, he is a sixteen-time nominee and got an Associated Press Award for “Best Weathercaster”.
Additionally, he is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist via the American Meteorological Society. Else, he is a proud supporter of the LGBTQ+ community. In 2021, he served as a host of the yearly galas for The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida, Latinos Salud, and Equality Florida.
Plus, he served as a Grand Marshal for the Wilton Manors Stonewall Pride Parade and has been invited back for the 2022 parade. On a side note, he is a vegetarian and an animal rights advocate.
