Asher has been working with the network since September 2007. Previously, she worked as an anchor and reporter at the WJRT, the ABC 12 affiliate in Flint. Before that, she was employed as an anchor and reporter at WLNS in Lansing, MI.

Taryn has always known she wanted to work as a television journalist since she was at least 8 years old. She feels privileged to report on stories that have an impact on our community.
Taryn started her journalism career working as an anchor and reporter at WLNS, the CBS station in Lansing. After that, she was hired as an anchor and reporter at WJRT ABC12 in Flint, where she met her husband, Jason Carr, as destiny would have it. She joined FOX 2 in 2007 after spending 7 years in Flint. Throughout her career, Taryn has covered everything from politics and presidents to the most deadly crimes and apprehending the perpetrators. She has even assisted in changing state legislation to outlaw the selling of synthetic substances.
Taryn has received numerous honors from the Associated Press and Michigan Association of Broadcasters, as well as six Emmy Awards, including Best News Anchor. Being able to give back to the community and instilling in their daughter the value of doing so means a lot to Taryn. She actively supports a number of charities, such as Michigan Humane and Happy Paws Haven, a local animal rescue, and Light House of Oakland County, which houses and helps homeless families.
Taryn enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially their daughter who is the life of the party and always trying to keep them up to date! They are also kept occupied by their pets, Violet, Charli Tickles, and Kitty (a foster dog fail) Through yoga and outdoor running, Taryn finds strength and serenity. She has completed the Detroit Free Press Marathon and is happy to say that she made it! She enjoys snow skiing in the winter. Taryn also enjoys traveling and anticipates visiting new places for her holidays.
