After graduating college, she went on to serve in Central Virginia.
While there, she debuted her career at WCAV/WVAW/WAHU as a broadcast meteorologist. Further, she served the local ABC and FOX affiliates in Charlottesville as an evening weather anchor for two years. Later, she served in Norfolk, Virginia for nearly five years as a forecaster for communities up and down the Mid-Atlantic coastline.
Also, she played a vital role in reporting on Hurricane Irene. “Covering Hurricane Irene was a reminder how we need respect the power of nature and cherish life. We were only in the early hours of dealing with Irene when we received word that a tree had fallen on a home and a child was unaccounted for. The mother escaped with only minor cuts and bruises, her son was killed. When I think of Irene I will always remember this story and my heart will ache for the mother who lost her son.”She voices.
To boot, she is an Emmy Nominated and Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM). Additionally, she serves as a member of both the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the National Weather Association (NWA). When she is not working, she enjoys spending time outdoors, running, and swimming. Else, she is hopelessly absorbed in expensive lattes.
