Olson works with WCIA 3 News Team serving the station as a Sports Reporter. He joined WCIA 3 News in the month of June 2019. He was raised north of Chicago in Lindenhurst, United States. While there, he found his love for media at Lakes Community High School. Later on, after his graduation, he majored in Journalism at Illinois State University. Asides from this, he worked at WZND, the student radio station, and TV-10, the student television station. This was before graduating in the month of May 2019.
Olson was privileged to win Most Outstanding Sports Radio Play-by-Play and Most Outstanding Soft Radio Program from the Student Illinois News Broadcasters Association. Later on, he interned with the Kenosha Kingfish of the Northwoods League as their Radio Broadcaster in 2018. Beherns’ favorite memory of that summer was doing an inning with Baseball Hall of Famer Lee Smith.
Olson has been a sports fan for longer than he can remember. Asides from this, he enjoys baseball, soccer, motorsports, and football. Olson also considers himself a media buff. Olson likes spending time relaxing watching movies and playing video games. Andy also likes cooking food, even though he is not great at it. Olson states that he tries his best.
