Brent Spencer Johnson is an American who works as an analyst for NBC Sports Washington. He was a professional ice hockey goaltender in the past. In the National Hockey League, he played for the Phoenix Coyotes, St. Louis Blues,  Pittsburgh Penguins, and Washington Capitals.

Johnson fought Rick DiPietro in his first NHL fight after DiPietro and Matt Cooke collided near the goal crease. Brent Johnson Career

Johnson made his NHL debut with the St. Louis Blues in 1998-1999 after being drafted in the fifth round by the Colorado Avalanche in 1995. He was with them until the 2003-04 season when he was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes. Johnson was also signed by the Vancouver Canucks prior to the 2005-06 season but was quickly claimed on waivers by the Washington Capitals, where he played behind both Olaf Kölzig and José Théodore.

Johnson made his Capitals debut in goal against the Tampa Bay Lightning on February 4, 2006. Moreso, John Grahame, the son of former NHL goaltender Ron Grahame, was the Lightning’s goaltender for the game. According to the Capitals, this was the first time two second-generation NHL goaltenders faced off against each other.
