Immediately after his graduation, Courtney joined WIAT CBS 42 News in Birmingham, Alabama where he began his professional journalism career. While there, he served as an Editor and Production Assistant between March 2016 to June 2017. Thereafter, he managed to join the WDHN News team in June 2017 and served as a reporter and MMJ. In addition, Chandler has served as a reporter and anchor in Dothan, Shreveport, Louisiana, and Montgomery, Alabama. However, in May 2022, he returned to CBS 42 as a part of the news team.
Courtney is always happily telling stories to people in order to create an impact on their communities in a positive way. Whenever he is not broadcasting, he actively participates in his church activities C.O.G.I.C (Church of God in Christ). Also, he spends quality time with his family and friends. In addition, he enjoys podcasting and watching sports. He is an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., as well as the National Association of Black Journalists.
Chandler’s dream was to become a national news correspondent for a national news network and he is now excited about being in the Wiregrass. Therefore, he is eager to tell great stories throughout this region of Alabama a place where he is not a stranger since he grew up in multiple sectors of the Magic City.
