Gaston came from KTRK-TV, ABC13 in 1992 to co-anchor 13 Eyewitness News at 6 am. She worked as an anchor till 1999 when she moved to New York to work for MSNBC. She then returned to ABC13 in 2001 to work as a reporter/anchor but this time, for Eyewitness News at 6 pm and Eyewitness News at 10 pm.
While at 13Eyewitness News, she covered stories like the O.J. Simpson trial in Los Angeles, the Rockets Championships, and the Democratic National Convention. She not only worked for MSNBC but also married former Houston Rocket basketball star Mario Elie (whom she met while covering a Rocket championship game). This was when she was away from ABC13 News.
She was a network correspondent for MSNBC and she covered the 2000 presidential election from coast-to-coast, including the Florida ballot recounts. She also covered President George W. Bush’s Inaugural activities, Elian Gonzales’ departure to Cuba, the U.S. bombing in the Iraqi no-fly zone, the Mid-East Violence, and the South American earthquake.
She has also worked for NBC’s Weekend Today Show as an anchor. She interviewed Senators Kay Bailey Hutchison, Olympia Snowe, and Hillary Rodham Clinton. She also interviewed the Reverend Jesse Jackson, the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, and Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating.
Before working for ABC13 News in 1992, she worked as an anchor/reporter at WTSP-TV in Tampa, Florida and as an anchor/reporter at WHTM-TV in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and KLTV in Tyler, Texas. At Memorial High School in Spring Branch, there are three triplets graduating from high school, which is not often. Luke Bethancourt stated, “We’ve seen each other in classes before, and it’s kind of special.” Alex, his brother, feels the same way. He stated, “I think probably the funniest part of the ceremony will be hearing the names of all the triplets called.”
There were three sets of triplets and 18 pairs of twins among the 664 graduates. They all claimed to be prepared for life after high school. Nina Garcia expressed her feelings regarding Alexander and Seth, her two brothers, “I think it’s going to be very difficult for us because we’re always together.” Even though we’re all very different, it’s special to be together, especially at this school,” Seth said.

Glenn Elie stated, “I’ve had [Gaston and Lauren] to lean on in everything I’ve experienced now, but now it’s just me on my own.”
