Her impactful work enabled her to cross the U.S.-Mexico border as a solo journalist to document a Utah family’s journey for affordable insulin. Therefore, this story won a Rocky Mountain Regional Emmy for Specialty Assignment. Further, Ginna reported in Knoxville, Tennessee, and began her career in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Roe attended UW-Eau Claire and graduated Magna cum laude. Go Blugolds! She credits The university’s journalism program shaped her as a journalist. She reported from Moldova, a small country in Europe while in college. Also, she spent several weeks reporting from the Southern United States, where she covered some of the most instrumental cities of the Civil Rights Movement. Fortunately, her relationships there led her back to Selma, Alabama to cover the 50th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday. Her experiences and conservations with prolific freedom fighters ignited her passion for civil justice reporting.

Roe loves it outdoors and hence enjoys camping, hiking, and going on adventures with her fiance, Sam, and labradoodle, Dolly. Additionally, Ginna is a giant animal lover and has two cats. She enjoys spending her free time with family and friends and hence this means everything to her. It has been the goal of her career to making it home to the Twin Cities as a reporter.
