Jenny is an American journalist working as a political reporter for KGET-TV 17news in Bakersfield and she is enjoying her work covering the Kern area. She has already covered community-focused topics, such as local efforts to enact a gender notice policy in schools and the resignation of Congressman Kevin McCarthy of Bakersfield from the House Speakership.
While in college, Jenny worked for the Emmy Award-winning Northwestern News Network as a reporter, anchor, and news director. Additionally, she has received numerous scholarships, awards, and recognitions for her work from organizations like the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) and the Society of Professional Journalists.
Jenny began her broadcasting career as an intern at KKTV 11 News in Colorado. She has also completed multiple internships at NBC News and has had her work featured on national platforms. She reported twice for Nightly News with Lester Holt: Kids Edition and pitched and associate-produced a piece for the TODAY Show. Through Bakersfield’s NBC affiliate, she is excited to become a part of the Peacock family.
