Rocca went to Georgetown Preparatory School, a Jesuit school for boys in North Bethesda, Maryland. In 1991 he graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in literature. He was president of Harvard’s Hasty Pudding Theatricals, appeared in four of the company’s popular burlesque, and co-wrote one (Swede Expectations). Rocca began his acting career on stage while touring Southeast Asia for the musical Grease (1993) and South Pacific Paper Mill Playhouse (1994). His first television job was writing and producing the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning children’s television series Wishbone. He is also the writer for The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss on Nickelodeon and Pepper Ann on ABC TV. 2011, he won an Emmy for writing at the 64th Tony Awards.
