Battiste started her CBS News career in May 2017 as a freelance correspondent for CBS Newspath, a 24/7 television news service for CBS stations and broadcasters around the world. Nikki covered the search for four missing men in Pennsylvania, the Parkland school shooting, and the Austin bomber. She was previously an award-winning producer and reporter for ABC News from New York. Nikki has traveled the world covering breaking news and stories for all ABC News broadcast platforms including Good Morning America, World News Tonight, Nightline, 20/20, and ABCNews.com.
Nikki has also co-produced numerous prison specials and interviews including The Casey Anthony Murder Trial, Honeymoon Killer, Life of Lies, and Black Widow. In 20/20, Nikki’s own investigation uncovered evidence that helped exonerate a law enforcement officer who had served 20 years in prison and been wrongly convicted of sexually abusing his own children.
