McCraine works for WFTV News serving the station as a weather forecaster. He began his broadcasting career in Clarksburg, West Virginia from 1998 to 1999 at WDTV-TV as a meteorologist. Afterward, he moved to Biloxi, Mississippi where he served as a meteorologist at WLOX-TV for 3 years since 1999. Later from 2002 to 2003, Rusty worked as a meteorologist at Capital News 9 in Albany, New York. In Dothan, Alabama, McCraine served as the Chief meteorologist for WDHN-TV for a year since 2003. Moreover, he also became the Chief meteorologist at KRCG in Jefferson City, Missouri for 2 years since 2005.
Additionally, Rusty made a move to Oklahoma City and served as the Weekend Evening Meteorologist and Severe Weather Expert at KOCO-TV for 6 years and 5 months since March 2007. Currently, he serves at WFTV ABC 9 in Orlando, Florida where he works as a Monday-Friday 7-9 a.m. and Monday-Friday Noon meteorologist. Additionally, he is also a member of the Board of Trustees, Orlando Science Center, and is open to discussing opportunities both inside and outside of television weather.
When he is not working, Rusty loves the water and he thinks he is close to catching every type of offshore fish Florida waters have to offer. Moreover, he plays on the WFTV Niners softball team and he is currently learning Italian and hope to put his language skills to use one day when I travel there.
