Joe graduated from Ball State University, with a degree in Meteorology and Climatology in 2018. Just before completing his degree, Joe gained real-world broadcast meteorology experience. This was when he worked as an intern at WISH-TV in Indianapolis, and at WGN-TV in Chicago. After graduating, he began his broadcast career as the weekend morning meteorologist at WANE 15 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. If not working, you could find Joe watching his favorite sports teams, the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago White Sox. Strus also enjoys being on the golf course and strumming his guitar to Bruce Springsteen tracks.
