Bob Donaldson Career
Donaldson began his broadcasting career before his campus graduation at the University of Missouri School of Journalism where he anchored at KOMU in Columbia, Missouri. Therefore, he has now been at the center of news coverage in central Indiana for almost three decades. Additionally, Bob worked as an Assignment Editor, the City Government Reporter, and the Weekend anchor at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Further, he worked at KFDM as a reporter in Beaumont, Texas, and also at KTVY in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Here, he won a first-place award for Spot News Reporting from Sigma Delta Chi. Bob joined the KUTV team in Salt Lake City, Utah, and worked as an Environmental Reporter as well as Special Projects Reporter in 1987. Additionally, he was honored with a UPI Tri-State Individual Reporting Achievement Award in Oklahoma City.
In addition, he anchored Monday to Friday anchoring at KARK in Little Rock, Arkansas. Also, he was a lead anchor in Indianapolis at WXIN FOX59 in 1991 when the station began its award-winning newscast, FOX59 News at 10. He was among the most successful local news launches ever among Fox affiliates. Bob participated in making WXIN, “Fox Station of the Year” both in 1992 as well as in 1994.
Additionally, Donaldson produced Emmy-award-winning special reports and documentaries during his long career at FOX59 and assisted change the station into one of the most dominant Fox affiliates in the country. Besides, he launched FOX59 News First at Four, leading to the station’s expansion at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 7 p.m. Also, he was an Interim News Director and later the newsroom’s Managing Editor.

Donaldson launched top-rated newscasts and was declared the leader of a new news team for CBS Affiliate Programming WXIN’s sister station, WTTV. Bob continued working at FOX59 News at 10 on WXIN as well as 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. newscasts on the new CBS4. He launched CBS4 Indy maintaining the high ratings of FOX59. Fortunately, CBS4 Indy’s 11 p.m. received an Emmy award for Best Newscast in 2018.
