Sawyer joined Hearst Television as a Freelance Assistant Producer in the Washington D.C. Metro Area for eight months. Therefore, she maintained and installed as well as operated production equipment. Besides, she booked “Live Shots” and “As-Lives” to 26 Hearst station affiliates among other assignments.

Denise has also worked as a general assignment reporter for MTV whereby, where she booked, shot, and edited news packages. Also, she enterprises and pitched stories on campus to producers for a national audience among others. However, she later moved to join AFP as a Multimedia Desk for a few months.
