The Florida native Harmony Mendoza is a Senior Level Forensic Meteorologist at The University of Alabama  since Jun 2023. Previously, she was a meteorologist for WVTM 13 in Birmingham and is one of the Birmingham brand ambassadors for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The hospital teaches the community about weather readiness through a variety of outreach initiatives and serves as a volunteer meteorologist on the Black Warrior Riverkeeper’s advisory board. When  Mendoza was only 15 years old, she already knew she wanted to be a “weather lady”. She wasn’t entirely sure how she would make that ambition come true, though, as she had no mentors and very little to no support at home. She is one of the Birmingham brand ambassadors for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The hospital teaches the community about weather readiness through a variety of outreach initiatives and serves as a volunteer meteorologist on the Black Warrior Riverkeeper’s advisory board.
