Mike started his career in Champaign-Urbana, IL at WCIA as a news reporter before being promoted to weekend and noon weather anchor. In addition, he hosted shows in a PM Magazine which he was among the first reporters to be given access to interview President Ronald Reagan at the White House.
Also, Caplan was employed by WFLD in December 2015 as the station’s morning Meteorologist for Good Day Chicago. Before joining WFLD, he worked for ABC 7 as a morning Weather forecaster and as a weekend weather Anchor
from 1995 to 2003. Mike has also worked at ABC 7 as the host at the “Perfect Pets” segment, WLS-TV as the 4 p.m. weekday meteorologist, and WTVD in Raleigh-Durham, NC as chief weather Anchor. He also co-anchored the station’s early evening newscasts besides weather assignments.
