She spent more than 20 years covering the stories of Central Alabama residents on CBS 42 News. Jackson has done exemplary work as a journalist investigating pollution, holding local governments accountable, informing the fight against cancer, educating the community about the potential dangers of digital devices and social media, and illuminating long-awaited tributes to our community on the made what she is today.

Prior to CBS42, Sherri worked as a morning news anchor/health reporter for WSAV. He was also a news anchor at WGXA. Jackson is recognized for her AIDS efforts in the city of Birmingham. Her article “AIDS from Alabama to Africa” won a national award from the National Association of Black Journalists. As a journalist, she is committed to telling stories that touch people’s lives in a series of feature stories entitled Faith in Action.”

The family is the driving force behind Sherri’s love of giving back to the community. Therefore, many of Sherri’s social activities focus on supporting family support agencies. She has served on several boards of charitable organizations serving children and women. These include UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, The Foundry Ministries, Lawson State Community College Foundation, Childcare Resources, Children’s Aid Society, and Red Cross Blood Services. Sherri has received multiple awards for Best News Anchor from the Alabama Broadcasters Association. In 2019, she was nominated by Alabama Media for Best First-Class Women.
