Jake Hamilton Education

Hamilton started his education at Seabrook Intermediate School before joining Clear Lake High School in Houston, Texas. He later joined the University of Houston where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Jake Hamilton Career

Hamilton began his journalism career as a film critic for the Houston Chronicle at the age of fourteen years.  He was awarded the position in April 2002, with his first review, “Spider-Man”, being published just a month later. Through his hard work, he continued writing hundreds of reviews until he left the Chronicle in May 2006 upon graduating from Clear Lake High School.

Jake later joined television as the film critic for the late-night talk show, The After Party, hosted by Ernie Manouse, where he participated in weekly chats before it was finally canceled in January 2007. Hamilton would later be brought in as a producer for the Houston PBS documentary, “The Last 24”.

In March 2008, Jake joined KHOU-TV appearing as a guest on their morning talk show, Great Day Houston. Due to its overwhelming reception, he was awarded his own segment, “Jake’s Takes,” which he would later bring to FOX TV in October 2010. In November 2013, Hamilton took a major step in his career bringing “Jake’s Takes” to the great team at “Good Day Chicago,” for FOX-TV (WFLD-TV).
