Leigh works for WFLA as an anchor for the network’s weeknights at 5, 5:30, 7 & 11 pm. In 1995, Leigh helped open News Channel 8’s Polk County bureau and began reporting full-time. During the network’s launching in July 2012, the 8 @ 7 show. There she was tenured as a full-time, weeknight anchoring for the station. Earlier in December 2014, the station announced she would take over anchoring duties for the 11 pm newscast. In June 2015, she started anchoring the 5 pm & 5:30 pm newscasts replacing longtime anchor Gayle Sierens.
She had retired after having served for more than 3 decades at the network. Leigh also serves on the Board of Volunteers In Service to the Elderly (VISTE), a non-profit organization in her hometown of Lakeland. Additionally, she served as honorary chair of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man & Woman of the Year Campaign and also as the LLS Light the Night Walks in both Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties.
