Doll is an American journalist working at KSNW-TV as a Midday and Weekend Evening Meteorologist in Wichita, Kansas. She covers everything from ice storms to hurricanes. Lucy saw all that Kansas weather has to offer as a child growing up in Kansas City, Missouri. She was always frightened of tornadoes and thunder. Her fear gave way to curiosity and wonder when she started going to the local library and reading books about clouds.
Interesting fact: At the age of six, Lucy won a competition by correctly naming every cloud in the sky. The reward was getting the meteorologist from the local TV station to come and do the weather forecast from her backyard! Lucy is now excited to share her knowledge and enthusiasm in order to keep her community informed and safe during extreme weather.
Lucy began her career at KOMU 8 in Missouri in 2018 as a weather intern. After a year she was promoted to weekend weathercaster. After graduating she was hired as a Meteorologist at KNOE-TV8 in Monroe, Louisiana, where she worked for two years before joining KSN in 2023. She actively participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and the United Way of Northeast Louisiana while working in Monroe.
In addition, Lucy supports sustainability and is attempting, one vegetarian burger at a time, to lessen her carbon footprint. In her free time, Lucy likes to read, go camping, go hiking, kayaking, bike, and spend time with her dog, Gertie, and cat, Mongojerry.
