He brings 43 years of forecasting and broadcasting experience to KSN having began his career as a weekend meteorologist in 1979 at WTEN-TV, the ABC affiliate in Albany, New York. Previously, he worked as a Meteorologist at KAKE-TV in Wichita Kansas. Before that, he was employed as the senior meteorologist at AccuWeather in Kansas.

He brings 43 years of forecasting and broadcasting experience to KSN having begun his career as a weekend meteorologist in 1979 at WTEN-TV. Jack’s fascination with the weather began at ten years old when powerful thunderstorms moved his family’s patio furniture as they rolled in off Lake Ontario. In order to further advance his career, Jack kept track of heating degree days for the local U.S. Post Office, kept his own local weather records for Youngstown, New York, and provided a daily weather forecast for the morning announcements at Suffern High School in Suffern, New York.

After graduating, Jack started his career as a TV weathercaster right here in Wichita. While working for WeatherData, a company that was located in the current studios of KSN Channel 3, he provided local forecasts for the now-defunct Satellite News channel. KARD were KSN’s call letters at the time. Before returning to his TV weather career, Jack worked for a private meteorological company called Compu Weather in New York City. From 1984 to 1990, he was employed at WITI-TV in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; from 1991 to 1995, he was employed at WFRV-TV in Green Bay, Wisconsin. After working as a part-time TV employee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for four years, from 1995 to 1999, he entered the private sector at State College, Pennsylvania-based AccuWeather.

Jack worked for AccuWeather for 21 years, retiring in 2020. While there, his responsibilities were long-range weather forecasting, tropical weather, severe weather, and radio and TV broadcasts. In September 2021, Boston was hired as a meteorologist at KAKE-TV in Wichita, Kansas, where he worked for two years and six months before joining KSN in 2022. Jack is eager to keep Kansans informed and safe about the various forms of impactful, life-affecting, and life-threatening weather that affect all of us here in the Central Plains. Additionally, he enjoys singing with his online band, playing the guitar, and playing golf.
