Maney is an American journalist working at KSN-TV as a Meteorologist during weekend morning based in Wichita Kansas. Growing up on the plains, one learns to keep an eye on the sky, and Jack was never able to take his eyes off of it. Originally from Oklahoma City, Severe weather was a fact of life. Jack’s childhood passion was all things earth science, but his intense curiosity about the weather began after tornadoes struck the Oklahoma City metro area on May 8 and 9, 2003.
With each passing storm throughout the years, that fascination grew. From 2010 to 2013, numerous significant tornado outbreaks occurred near his home. In 2013, he saw the largest tornado ever recorded, measuring 2.6 miles across, from his front porch. That encounter put an end to any doubts: he was going to be a meteorologist.
After graduating from college, Jack briefly worked for KSN’s sister stations KAMC and KLBK in Lubbock, Texas, but in February 2023, he was drawn to Wichita to join the Storm Track 3 team. When Jack isn’t working, he enjoys playing guitar and taking pictures, playing hockey (Go Bruins!). Additionally, he has two pet birds at home, Tsunami and Riptide.
