Wahls’ career as a meteorologist started in April 2013 at WLNS-TV in Lansing, Michigan. This was her first full-time job out of college where she worked as the morning meteorologist for seven years. She produced multiple weather hits for live newscasts using WSI TruVu Max. In addition, she also provided live traffic updates using Max Traffic, assisted in the writing of news stories that have a weather focus, and posted weather content on the station website, social media, and apps.
Emily later joined WILX-TV in Lansing, Michigan in September 2020 as the Chief Meteorologist where she was responsible for covering everything including severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, snowstorms, and ice storms. Later in about one year, she relocated to Chicago and worked at FOX32 News as the Chief Meteorologist and still working to date since September 2021.
