While there he covered and reported high school baseball, basketball, and football games in California. Additionally, he conducted interviews with some of the nation’s top high school prospects.
After that, he founded Now Sports Networks, He then moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where he spent 7 years working as a sideline reporter for Sports Illustrated (Fan Nation). During his time there, he covered the TCU Horned Frogs football team’s run to the National Championship.
Derek was also a Promotional salesman for the Texas Rangers Baseball Club in Arlington, TX. When he is not working, Derek likes to go kayaking, watch baseball games, and of course, check out new BBQ places.
