Heather has won awards as a journalist and was severally nominated for various Emmys. She remembers reporting for a deeper look into the work of the Pittsburgh Police Vice Squad. Abraham received the Golden Quill award when she reported on a 7-alarm fire in Homestead. Further, she was also nominated for an Emmy for hosting the show in her on-air role on PTL,
Abraham actively participates in the community activities like the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania. This is where she takes part in their yearly polar plunge fundraiser, as well as Hair Peace Charities, Animal Friends, and the KDKA-TV Turkey Fund. Further, she came up with an annual block party and assisted in creating a safe Light Up Night on her street during the 2020 COVID pandemic.
