Emery is an award-winning reporter and was lucky to be nominated for an Emmy for her excellent work covering the deadly tornado outbreak in Alabama in 2011. She loves updating her community on breaking news and also forecasting the weather. Kristin is originally from “little” Washington, where she was born and raised.
Over the years she has successfully covered politics, sports, and medicine. Additionally, Emery reported on diverse weather events including floods, blizzards, ice storms, mudslides, tornadoes, and hurricanes. She remembers Hurricane Andrew in Florida as among the most memorable stories.
She has an approval seal from both the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. Kristin is also an active member of the RIAS Berlin Commission through RTDNA. Therefore, she reported from Germany on the 60th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift, and on issues surrounding German reunification as well as the formation of the European Union.
Kristin loves being outside enjoying it on the ski slopes, and scuba diving as well as golfing. Her hobbies include traveling and following Pittsburgh and WVU sports teams.
